After Kindergarten and School Age Programs

Our After Kindergarten and School Age Rooms staff are dedicated to creating a nurturing, loving environment for your child.
Ashburn Village Country Day School's After Kindergarten and School Age Programs are accommodating programs designed for the parent that requires a service that includes either taking their child to, or picking up their child from school for children attending elementary school in the vicinity of our center. Transportation is provided for children in Kindergarten through Elementary School. Ashburn Village Country Day School understands the need that school-aged children have to be in a supportive environment that sets the tone for the start of their school day. The environment should also give them an outlet for their energy at the end of the day.
The morning session consists of quiet activities, such as reading, table toys and games, followed by a healthy breakfast. Time is scheduled for the children to organize their school materials, as well as themselves, prior to their departure for school.
The afternoon schedule includes a snack, outdoor playtime, sports, music and dancing, dramatic play, puzzles, board and card games, team time, and cooperative games to encourage a supportive classroom community. Quiet time for supervised homework or recreational reading is scheduled daily. Theme-related activities such as arts and crafts projects, games, cooking activities, and organized club time round out the afternoon.
